100 affordable new homes delivered in Bolton

We have built more than 100 new homes in Bolton in partnership with Bolton at Home and with funding support from Homes England.

The new development called Chorley Place is situated on Chorley Street in the town centre. Not only has the development provided much needed affordable homes for local people, it has also had a significant impact in the regeneration of the town centre.

Property prices in Bolton continue to rise, driven by the private rental market, with professionals, couples and young families seeing the town as a good commutable location. This makes it increasingly more difficult for people to access good quality, affordable housing locally. These new family houses are available to buy now through the Government’s Shared Ownership scheme, which helps people onto the property ladder. While the one and two-bedroom apartments are available to through several affordable rental options.

Bolton is an important area for Irwell Valley Homes and Chorley Place is the first development that we have completed in partnership with Bolton at Home. Together we have our sights on further developments to deliver over 2500 much need affordable homes. Local developer Watson Homes built the new homes to ensure the investment remained within the Greater Manchester economy.

Claire Griffiths, Executive Director of Growth, Development and Assets at Irwell Valley Homes said: “Chorley Place offers a variety of buying and rental options, which gives more people the opportunity to live there, including homes to help people live more independently. This is in response to the diverse need for more affordable homes in Bolton, as well as the growing demand for specialist housing for older people.  We are delighted to be working so successfully with our partners at Bolton at Home, Watson Homes and Bolton Council.”
