Improving fire safety for residents

Improving fire safety for residents

We are installing a new sprinkler system in the tower blocks in Haughton Green, that will significantly improve the fire safety for residents. Statistics show that over 90% of fires are extinguished or controlled by a sprinkler system, if one is fitted.

Rob Cawley our Head of Compliance said: “Keeping our customers safe is our top priority. This advanced sprinkler system will significantly improve the fire safety of these buildings, giving residents greater protection and peace of mind.”

To help residents understand how the new system will work and look in their homes, we installed the system in an apartment and invited residents to look around. We also met with residents to tell them about this major improvement work and provide an opportunity for them to ask any questions to the installation team.

Claire Griffiths Executive Director of Growth, Development and Assets said: “As a landlord, we take fire safety extremely seriously. We take advice from the Fire Service and our fire risk assessors regarding fire safety in all of our buildings. We also employ a full-time fire compliance manager to manage our risks and make sure that we are compliant and keeping customers safe.”
