To make our world sustainable for us, and future generations, we must reduce greenhouse gas emissions to keep the global temperature from rising above 1.5°C by 2050.
The time to do this is now and we all have a part to play.
We have worked with the Carbon Trust to understand our carbon emissions as an organisation. This has helped us to develop a plan to reduce our carbon footprint and set targets to measure our progress.
we'll go greenWe will replace our vehicles with electric ones, using green technology and choosing companies to work with based on their commitment to sustainability and environmental management |
we'll build greenWe will future proof new homes in line with Future Homes Standards, building zero-carbon homes and developing a zero-carbon community in Trafford. |
we’ll promote greenEngaging with colleagues so that our ambitions are shared and supported across the organisation. And working with residents to help them understand their impact and reduce their carbon footprint too. |
we’ll invest in greenWe will access funding to install renewable and carbon reducing technology. And including zero carbon targets in all our investment plans. |
We’ll create greener places to liveWe will plant trees and wildflower meadows, encouraging nature and tree preservation and develop environmentally friendly waste management systems. |
We’ll be a green partnerWe will work with organisations who share our green ambitions and who are committed to making a difference. |
we’ll measure how green we have becomeWe will monitor our progress every year, learning as we go and sharing this learning with others. |
