IRWELL Valley Homes’s sustainability goals were given a boost after we became members of the Energy Efficiency Association (EEA).

The eco-focussed professional body drives decarbonisation by reducing energy waste and promoting sustainable energy solutions so membership will have benefits for both us and our customers.

We will have access to advice over policy updates on matters such as retrofitting homes and building green developments, technical guidance, shared resources and funding.

While staying up to date with energy-saving technologies means customers can have homes that are warmer and cheaper to heat.

Ellie Makin, sustainability officer for Irwell Valley Homes, said: “Becoming a regional member of the Energy Efficiency Association is an exciting step forward for Irwell Valley Homes.

“More than 85% of our carbon footprint comes from our existing homes, so getting retrofit and green technology right is essential.

“This partnership helps us learn from sector experts, share best practices, and accelerate our work to make our residents' homes warmer, more energy-efficient, and cheaper to heat.”

The Energy Efficiency Association is a UK based trade association set up in 2018 to help coordinate communication and collaboration within the field of energy efficiency.
