Starts At Home Day 2022 - Aaron's story

Aaron is a resident of the Moving On Up Project in Salford, our supported housing for young people with autism and ADHD.

With practical support with things like cooking and budgeting, as well 1 to 1 coaching and mentoring, emotional support and personal development sessions, Aaron has made fantastic progress – developing the skills he needs to live an independent life in his community.

He’s already moved into one of our two self-contained apartments – his first exciting step towards a home of his own.

Our specialist team will remain there for Aaron once he leaves MOUP, through the outreach service and Community Hub which operates from the building, offering everything from art therapy and healthy living workshops to employability skills sessions.

His project worker says: “Aaron has engaged so positively with the team at MOUP and is a wonderful example of how supported housing helps people to live well.”

“There’s no way I would have been able to get where I am today without your support.”
