Shore Green is a special place that supports people with dementia to live well.
The private self-contained apartments and bungalows are arranged using a dementia friendly curved design. Every home benefits from views out onto the neighbourhood which helps residents feel connected. The homes are accessed off a central curved corridor which leads residents back to their home or into one of the many shared spaces inside or out. The central garden is a safe hub at the heart of Shore Green and has lots of lovely areas for residents to sit and chat together.
The homes are fully adapted with specialist kitchens, bathrooms and safety features. We know how important it is for people to feel at home, so residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture and personalise their home with things which are familiar to them. There is also a guest room so family can stay over.
Residents benefit from specialist on-site care 24 hours a day, plus support to enjoy their hobbies and interests, and stay active within the community. The 24-hour onsite care team look after residents on a 1-to-1 basis, and everyone gets an individual care and support plan
We believe in keeping families together wherever possible, so couples can move in together if one or both have dementia, this stops them having to live separately which is so important.
