We're pleased to have appointed a talented team of consultants to help deliver our ambitious plans for the regeneration of Haughton Green.
The appointment follows a rigorous procurement process that included local resident Donna Healey, Chair of the Haughton Green Resident Steering Group, our Chief Executive Sasha Deepwell and board members. Resident involvement in selecting the team reflects our commitment to ensuring the regeneration is shaped with the community.
Following a rigorous tender process, CPC Project Services has been appointed as lead consultant and will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team including:
-
Bowker Sadler, architects
-
Sutcliffe Projects, civil and structural engineers
-
Nexus, planning consultants
-
Amenity Tree Care, ecologists and landscape architects
-
TWC Consulting, low energy consultants
-
Gerrard Building Services, mechanical and electrical consultants
The team will now begin working closely with residents and colleagues to develop the regeneration plans in more detail. Meaningful engagement with the community will be at the heart of every stage of the project, with local people helping to shape proposals before they are submitted for planning approval.
The first phase of the regeneration will see residents of Southey Court, Fitzgerald Court and Castleton Court supported to move into alternative homes, allowing the three high-rise buildings to be demolished.
In their place, we plan to build three new apartment blocks designed to modern accessibility and sustainability standards. All current residents will be invited to return to the new homes if they wish. We are also working in partnership with Tameside Council to identify wider opportunities for new homes.
The wider estate regeneration also includes ideas for other additional new homes across the estate, alongside a £1 million investment in placemaking and environmental improvements, as well as continued investment in existing homes.

We are delighted to appoint such a high-quality team of consultants through a tender exercise that put resident voice at the heart of the process. It was important that we started as we mean to go on, with local people having a voice in choosing the team that will help shape the future of their community.
"The decision to demolish and redevelop the three high-rise blocks was not an easy one, but we believe it is the right long-term solution for the area and for the people who live here," added Sasha.
"We now have the expertise in place to take the next step and, together with residents, turn this vision into reality. We are looking forward to listening, learning and working alongside the Haughton Green community as the plans develop."
A detailed programme of consultation with tenants and residents will begin shortly.
Feedback gathered through this engagement will help shape the proposals ahead of a planning application being submitted to Tameside Council in summer 2027.
