We’re delighted to be have been awarded the LGBTQ+ Housing Pledge accreditation – highlighting our commitment to delivering inclusive homes and services for our LGBTQ+ customers.
Following an assessment by the official advisory panel, we’ve been awarded the ‘Pledge Pioneer’ status – which shows how we’ve built on the commitment we made as part of our earlier ‘Promise’ accreditation to deliver real impact for LGBTQ+ customers.
You might be more familiar with this being called the ‘HouseProud Pledge’. Although it’s still assessed and managed by HouseProud and Stonewall housing, the name has changed to make it more obvious to others what it stands for.
The criteria for being awarded ‘Pledge Pioneer’ status says that organisations need to demonstrate LGBTQ+ residents have a voice at the highest level of our organisation. They also wanted to see how we’ve improved visibility of LGBTQ+ customers and improved colleague awareness and training around LGBTQ+ issues.
In our entry we showcased our commitment to LGBTQ+ customers and colleagues through:
-
Our Ally Training Programme.
-
Other EDI training and e-learning for all colleagues
-
Our involvement in celebrations such as Manchester Pride and our own Pride Picnics.
-
Our customer engagement framework, with our customer groups having representation from LGBTQ+ customers.
-
Customer stories and case studies
It’s fantastic to see our efforts rewarded and crucially it gives us another chance to put this important work in the spotlight.
