Irwell Valley Homes is launching a new Customer Committee made up of the people who live in our homes and access our services.
We want your insight and experiences to help influence the priorities that matter most where you live, make the improvements you want to see and ensure we are meeting what’s expected of us through the Regulator of Social Housing’s Consumer Standards.
It’s all about strengthening the role that customers play in making sure we are well managed, listening and responding to customers and considering them in all we do.
The Customer Committee will form part of our Board of Management structure – reporting its findings and recommendations directly into the highest level of the organisation.
We are looking for people who:
✅ Are passionate about making positive change.
✅ Are comfortable preparing, attending and contributing to meetings.
✅ Are respectful and can consider different ideas and points of view.
✅ Can agree collective decisions in the best interests of Irwell Valley Homes’ customers.
✅ Are confident communicating with others and are inclusive of others.
No previous experience is needed, but the qualities and skills highlighted above will be key in the role and will be explored as part of the application process.

The Committee will be made up of between four and six customers from our communities across Greater Manchester. It will be chaired by our Resident Board Member and will meet six times a year in the evening, acting as a sub-committee of the Irwell Valley Homes Board of Management.
We’re committed to making the Customer Committee accessible for all. If you are interested in the opportunity but there are barriers that might prevent you from getting involved, please get in touch to discuss.
