This spring we launched our new communities strategy focused on delivering what matters most to you in the neighbourhoods where you live.
The strategy focuses on:
✅ Promoting safe and peaceful neighbourhoods.
You can read the full strategy and find out more about the action plan supporting it on our website here.
Some of our progress so far includes:
✅ Working with our Customer Communications Group to create a Good Neighbour Toolkit full of top tips and advice for how to approach and deal with neighbourly tensions. The aim is to empower customers with the tools to help stop issues progressing to more serious anti-social behaviour. You can read the toolkit here. We’ve also added the Good Neighbour Agreement into our Welcome Pack – asking all new customers to sign up to it when they move in.
✅ Consulting with customers about new Local Lettings Policies for their buildings – designed to balance the needs and priorities of existing residents, with the need to provide homes for those in housing need in the area.
✅ Organising a series of anti-social behaviour surgeries across our communities, bringing together our colleagues and partners to raise awareness and support customers. We'll share further details on what's happening near you soon.
✅ Launching a new Rate My Gardener and Rate My Cleaner survey to help customers provide quick and easy feedback - holding our contractors to account on the communal cleaning and grounds maintenance services they deliver.
✅ Moving our estates team to work in specific areas and buildings – helping to improve the frequency and consistency of the services they provide.
✅ Organising a series of community drop-in events across our communities where you can meet your Neighbourhood Officer to discuss any questions or concerns. You can find the details on our website here, along with the information about your next Neighbourhood Inspection in July. We are working to add further dates and locations, so please check back or follow us on social media @IrwellValleyHomes for the latest updates.
✅ Supporting customers through our Irwell Valley Foundation charitable investment fund. Between April 2024 and March 2025 we issued an amazing £86,500 in funding to our customer and community groups. Read more about the Foundation on our website here.
