Muck in and make a difference on Thursday 24th November!
We’re hosting a community clean-up day in Haughton Green next month and would love you to join us!
Colleagues from across Irwell Valley Homes, along with our partners including Tameside Council, will be grabbing their litter pickers and helping to tidy up the neighbourhood.
There will also be a skip on the car park near Harewood Walk for customers to dispose of any unwanted large or bulky items* and we’ll be serving free hot drinks from the centre between 10am and 2pm.
We know Haughton Green is a great place to live and there’s a wonderful community spirit. This event is chance for everyone to come together and make a difference – creating a neighbourhood we can all be proud of.
Can’t make it on 25th November? Did you know the Oasis Centre is a Tameside Litter Hub – meaning you can collect a litter picker, hi-vis jacket and bin bags any day Monday to Thursday. We’ll also provide special stickers and bags for you to mark up the extra waste you’ve gathered for collection and disposal. Even just half an hour a week can make a real difference to the area. Why not involve the kids too and challenge them to see who can collect the most?
To register your interest in attending on 24th November, please email your Community Co-ordinator Courtney Thomas: Courtney.thomas@irwellvalley.co.uk with your name (and the names of anyone else coming along with you).
We hope to see you there!
*Please note the following items cannot be disposed of in the skip: fridges/freezers, tyres; paint cans; TVs/monitors; large tree trunks; oil; asbestos; clinical/medical waste; fluorescent tubes; mattresses; roofing materials; solvents; liquids; batteries; plasterboard; hazardous/toxic material.
