Hear from your Neighbourhood Officer about what they’re up to in your area.

Greetings to Heatherway Estate, Broomwood Estate, Bowdon vale Estate, Flixton and Wythenshawe residents.
I hope you have all been having a lovely Autumn. As we move into Winter, here is an update from my estate inspections.
Fly tipping
Fly-tipping has previously been an ongoing issue, but I’m really pleased to say that I found fly tipping to be low in all areas. Thank you everyone for helping to keep our community clean and tidy - please do keep up the good work and dispose of your waste in a responsible manner.
Communal areas
In my last newsletter I mentioned that some items were being stored in communal spaces in apartment blocks. I am pleased to say that these areas do look better, however I did still come across some items which shouldn’t be there. I will be in touch with residents in the flats affected in the coming weeks, as the situation could present a fire safety risk, especially when items are being left on evacuation routes. Please do make sure you keep these places clear - items stored incorrectly may be stickered and removed to keep the areas safe for everyone.
Potholes
During my recent visit to Heatherway Estates, I noticed several potholes. I have reported these to the council, and the good news is that they do appear to be repairing them quickly.
Customer Connect Day – 15th October
We recently launched our new customer strategy – Together With You. You can read it here. To kickstart our plans, we organised our first ever Customer Connect Day - our team were out and about making a difference in our communities. A range of activities took place including litter picking, seasonal planting and gardening. Our team also visited elderly residents with care packages.
Together with colleagues, I helped tidy the grounds at Magnolia and weeded around the building. I also arranged skips at Hornbeam Close and Magnolia Court, giving residents the opportunity to dispose of any unwanted items.
Looking ahead, Epping Drive will have a skip placed near the block of three properties (18–52 Epping Drive) at the start of December. I’ll confirm the exact date closer to the time.
