Aids and adaptations

If you are finding it difficult to get around your home and would benefit from adaptations to help you live safely and independently, we can help.

We can install simple adaptations such as grab rails, banister rails and easy to open taps. Please call us and we will be happy to help.

If you need more significant alterations to your home such as a wet floor shower room, you will need to apply to your local authority for a Disabled Facilities Grant. They will arrange for an Occupational Therapist (OT) to carry out an assessment at your home to assess your needs and recommend solutions to help. The local authority team will then visit your home to assess your financial circumstances (except for applications for children). If your application is approved, the Equipment and Adaptations Team will contact you and let you know the next steps. We will also contribute to any work carried out.
